two aimless glances

I said
In a transient moment
An aimless glance
Catches
Brown, slender wandering branches
Weaving subtle spangled patterns
Of twilight playing
In a web of green

Evoking
A smile, A harmony of sorts
in response.
In curious contemplation I pause
To wonder what ancient secret did we share
Are they going on everywhere?
In the moving cloud, in the grains of sand,
In the falling rain
In a friend’s presence
In the play of the breeze
In the music of the birds
In the setting sun
Carrying treasures, all of time and its secrets
Saying
listen for the endless whisperings
This mighty Caravan is moving on!

She said
In a transient moment
An aimless glance
Snatches
Of words,laughter,blurbs of sounds
People wandering,traffic passing
Noises around
Blurred images
Of the crowd of humanity in a haze of grey

Evoking
A sigh, a tired glance,
In curious contemplation I pause
To wonder; what ancient obsession did we share
Are they going on everywhere?
In the giggling children
In the harried mother
In the inquisitive relatives
In the noisy cousins
In carpenters hammering
In the tractors gear shifts
Across these lands
Carrying
The hustle bustle
All of time and its secrets
Saying, listen for those peaceful silences
That this mighty Caravan can take some rest!
