Rain

Here it descends
Like a million happy feet
Rushin’ down  tiny musical stairs

All around. The sweet
Sweet smell of wet earth

Gazin’ trance like I watch
The bubbles  in the sand
Jumpin’, catchin’ light
Silver tinted raindrops

Drops, drops, all around

Tree trunks sparklin’
Like  black rugged diamonds
With slithers of sunlight
Grazin’ here and there

In the midst of them
Tufts of fragile green
A lone umbrella palm
Drops playin’ trampoline
Off its ruffled strands
Tuggin’ at your heart
Like a crazy child with unruly hair
Givin’ in to the rain
